My Bio
I am an author and illustrator living in Cary, North Carolina. Until recently, I worked most of my professional life in the game industry with the goal of becoming a concept artist. Somewhere along the line, that changed to the desire to tell stories. My first Sci-Fi novel, "Son of Sedonia," was finally published in late December. With this page, I intend to provide both concepts from my book as well as anything else that triggers the will to paint.

Came here from Reddit, hoping to see more from you. Kudos
I finished reading SoS over the summer. It was an absolutely amazing read, definitely one I've been recommending lately.  Really hoping more people pick it up, and hope you put out more stuff eventually!

From an aspiring writer, great work and best of luck in the future!

PS: Your artwork is fantastic. You're 2x inspiring :D
It's impressive that you have illustrated your own book. I'm reading a sample of it on Kindle and I like what I've seen so far. Your art style reminds me of this deviant somewhat [link]. Do you plan another book later?
Thanks very much! I do hope to write another soon, but I'm trying to push this one as far as I can...it's the hardest I've ever worked on any personal project (taking 6 years), and is absolutely the most fulfilled I've ever felt.

If you like it, please spread the word! You'd be doing me an immense favor, and would help this shift from a hobby to a career. :)
If you don't mind me asking, how are you finding Amazon's Kindle service as far as getting attention for your work? I self-published a couple of stories there but have had almost no response. It's the first time I've ever published anything so I could use any advice you might have.
Hey, no problem! The Kindle Service is great given its giant market share (I think roughly 80% of all eBooks are sold on Amazon), but that also means you have to fight 10x as hard to get seen. There's little to nothing that Amazon will do FOR you to get your stuff seen and purchased, so most of that is entirely up to you. Blogs, Twitter, Facebook, Reddit, Commenting in larger Blogs...all of that theoretically builds your platform from which people will recognize you and your writing.

But I must emphasize (with every fiber of my being) that this is still a crapshoot. Most of it is being in the right place at the right time. All you can really do is be diligent and dedicated, honest and likeable, and hope that your scattershot approach will improve your chances. I'm still trying to figure it out myself :)
